Gina Schumacher, March 2025

Top 20 Non Pros

“I’m thrilled! It means a lot to me, as I work every day to get better, and when it works, it makes me proud and worth all the hours I’ve spent in the saddle! I always try to be the best version of myself and improve on certain things. Every single horse is a challenge of its own, and I try to give it my best at making the horse look the best version of him/her. Every win is special to me.”

„We have a phenomenal team and horses. I think my work ethic is also an important part [of the win], and I try really hard to adapt to each and every horse as they are all different and like/dislike different things. I try to adapt my training and riding to make it most suitable for them in order to get the best possible results. [For 2025], we have mostly the same shows planned as every year which are all the major events such as derbies and futurities.”

Level 4 Non Pro 100X Derby and NARS Mare Power Derby Champions

CS Especially Moody
and Gina Schumacher

“CS Especially Moody, who we call ‘Tommy’, was really good. We’ve been in the pen together a few times now and he’s always right there with me. He’s really fun to show. He’s going to get a break for the rest of the year, and then we’ll be getting him ready for the derbies again.

It’s always nice to add to a horse’s earnings, and this win was especially rewarding because we raised him, and owned and showed his mother, Judys A Little Moody. We’ve got a lot of babies out of her coming up, so it’s always encouraging when the siblings are showing well and adding to her record as a producer. And I think spotlighting the mare power in the industry is super important.”

„I ride all my horses myself five days a week, and that really helps me to understand where I can push and where I need to back off. I think I get along with him really well.

Without a team, this wouldn’t be possible. And we have an amazing team and my family of course. And all the great people we get to meet at those events. So thank you to everybody.”

TRFAM Non Pro Challenge

All Right Magnum
and Gina Schumacher

NRHA Million Dollar Rider Gina Schumacher was last to ride for the Non Pro Challenge. Drawing No. 54 meant she could sleep in a little bit before the $50,000-added event. As the last rider, Schumacher rode All Right Magnum to a 222, good for first place and a $14,220 check.

„He’s always great. He’s just such a good horse. He doesn’t require a lot of riding. He’s very good-minded. He knows his job. He’s 10 years old. We bred him, raised him, trained him, so I know him very well.“

It’s special to win here. I’d never won anything here at TRFAM. The win is always fun, but all the preparation makes it more special, because it’s hard, even though sometimes it looks easy, but it’s not given. So every time I win, it’s a very nice accomplishment, and I’m very proud of my horses.

He prepared well, and I’m very happy with how it went. I just try to do my best every time and just go with whatever that horse gives me that day. And everything worked out fine.”
